Is there a good barometer for which level agency to approach? Like, I'm older and have a ton of experience and training, but am new to the NYC market. So should I target boutique agencies?
Kim's answer: First finish listening to This entire module as I give some other things to think about and I also think you will have a better idea of who needs your skill sets/who you should approach too once you finish the pitching section. However with that Said it’s up to you who you reach out to. You need to Be realistic. Ie. Who can use your services now and make money. That is key. Big agencies usually have star clients. There are exceptions but probably not realistic in reaching out to them Initially. Small and medium agencies have more Clients looking to establish themselves in the ny market. (I know you so I know this is your market for whoever else is reading this). It will be all about research. Who represents clients in your age range, with less established credits in this specific market in your area of experience/expertise/talents that are also working at that level. It will take some time to narrow it down. I know this market pretty well and I bet in you doing the research it will probably reveal at least 10 (if not more) agencies that would be of the right level for you right at this moment of your career trajectory.
