How To Get An Agent Class Group

I would love to do more film/tv, but it seems like the film/tv agents want clients who already have big credits. Except you can't get big TV credits without first having an agent, because there is no way to get into those audition rooms without their help. Big catch 22. Is it okay to apply to across the board agents and say I've done mostly theater but would love to expand on my tv/film career as well?

Kim's Reponse: I don’t necessarily agree with you. Any agents with mostly clients booking at co-star level With take actors with little tv credits (as long as they are a sellable commodity in the market and they need that sellable commodity on their roster). Again research will reveal this. Also if you are applying to across the board agents then your initial sell to them for rep is for theatre with the interest to expand in other areas. You have to prove you are a commodity in theatre world for them and they will still be interested Also I delve more into this in the last modules of the course. You also become a commodity to agents via your network and castability lists and being proactive (going out and meeting casting directors who can call you in directly). Just because you have little credits now again doesn’t mean you won’t interest an agent for tv/film if your are active in the world in seeking work and have reel footage you have made/network of people you are expanding that cAn showcase that. Again this applies to agents who handle more entry level tv/film actors. Continue to listen through the course and come back to this after you finish if you still have questions. I think you will have a clearer picture once you get through other modules.
